Get to know one of the coolest moms in town! We had the pleasure of sitting down at lunch with Misty and chat it up. I got to ask her a few questions about her fashion clothing line MISTYBD.
We wanted to know, what made you get into this industry?
"There were styles I was searching for when I sold retail and I could not find them. If I found something similar, it was never in stock. I assumed I couldn't be the only boutique owner in that situation. So, I decided I will make the styles I want and offer them to other retailers. I eventually phased out my online boutique so I could focus 100% on my brand."
How does it make you feel when you see someone wearing your clothing?
"Yes! I really enjoy seeing other people wearing my pieces. I love when they post themselves on social media wearing my stuff because to me, that means they like it enough to show everyone their outfit!"
Who is your inspiration for designing your clothing, who is your audience?
"When I create my pieces I think of stylish moms, working women, and young adults. I like for my items to have multiple styling options so it can fit the niche of the person wearing it. For example, my Flutter Sleeved Top untucked with sneakers and shorts or jeans would be more casual wear. But, if the person decided to take that same top and pair it with a skirt, heels or booties, and incorporate jewelry, that is a whole new outfit for that piece."
What would you want someone to know who has never heard about you before?
"Misty BD is 99% manufactured in the USA. It is a size inclusive brand with a current range of S-3X. "
